Audition for Goodly
Thank you for your interest in performing with Goodly Creatures Theatre!

This summer, we are excited to produce Shakespeare’s classic Much Ado About Nothing!
This production will be directed by Katrina Syrris, learn more about the director here.
Auditions will take place at Etc Coworking’s Main Conference Room from 7pm to 9pm on:

We will be hosting both in-person and virtual auditions this spring. You may attend more than once. We ask that you submit the registration form in order to be considered for the cast. There is a button to access the form below.

In Person Auditions: Be prepared for readings from the script.
Virtual Auditions: Please submit a video recording of your performance of one memorized monologue from any of Shakespeare’s plays. If you have a website or reels, feel free to include links to those in your email submission. Video auditions are due by Friday, April 18th at midnight. Please send your virtual audition to info@goodlycreatures.com with the subject line “[First and Last Name]: Shakespeare Audition]”.

Elgin, IL: Lords Park, Picnic Shelter East, Sunday, August 17th at 3pm (Rain Date is Sunday, August 24th at 3pm at the Wing Park Bandshell)

Dundee, IL: Swings' Private Performance, Saturday, August 16th at 6pm
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will take place Monday through Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, beginning in May. Occasional Friday rehearsals may be scheduled depending on cast availability. Please note that you will not be required to attend all rehearsals (with the exception of tech week), as a schedule will be made to accommodate absences, and will be organized based on scenes we’re rehearsing and who is necessary for those scenes.
Tech week will take place the week prior to our first performance.
Rehearsals will be held in Dundee, IL, approximately 5 minutes from the 1-90 Exit (approximately 45 minutes from O’Hare). Location will be shared with cast and crew.
Compensation:
Every ensemble member will be paid a $125 stipend upon completion of the performance run.
Characters in the Play: Note that some roles are subject to double-casting and gender may also be changed.
